The Blackberry
I will try to tell this best I can. Warning as a Grandbaby story follows.... ha !
Our little 21 month old Granddaughter, Mercy, melted my Heart this evening.
We keep her 3 or 4 days per week as her Mom (our daughter) is a single Mother and worked as a Paramedic at a Hospital – 12 hour shifts.
So we pick up Mercy and have her for about 15 to 16 hours per day when we keep her – we love it !
On to the story…
This evening ms gamboolgal and #1 Granddaughter were downstairs in the Kitchen and they came up the Stairs to our Sitting Room / Parlor. We have a electric Chair that ms gamboolgal rides up and down the Stairs with Mercy as we will not risk carry her on the Stairs. Although now Mercy is walking and we hold her hand and walk her up and down the stairs sometimes. But we still use the “hotrod” a lot.
Well this evening they got to the top of the stairs and they had a load of stuffed animals, her bottle and toys and no telling what else.
Little ms Mercy was not a happy Camper and made ms gamboolgal go back down stairs and she got one Blackberry. ms gamboolgal tried to bring up more since she thought that Mercy wanted them. But no it was 1 Blackberry and 1 Blackberry only.
Well they got into the Parlor and it looks like a disaster area with all the toys and stuff we have for Mercy… ha !
Mercy started playing but she came over to my chair and was pointing for Grandma to get the Grabber (bad back for me so we have the long handled Grabbers all over the house)
So ms gamboolgal got the Grabber and Mercy was pointing under my chair and ms gamboolgal found the 1 Blackberry that Mercy had brought up a minute or two before.
Grandma gave the Blackberry to Mercy and Mercy then gave the Blackberry to me and pointed for me to eat it.
That made our evening ! As Mercy planned to do this and made Grandma go back downstairs and get the Blackberry and then bring it to the Parlor for me.
What a sweet thing to do for Grandpa!
Mercy is our only Grandbaby and like most all Grandparents – she hung the Moon as far as we are concerned.
