Speaking of this, what's the deal with the new craze of "smashburgers"? Has anyone tried them? Opinions?
I can’t speak for all the burger places, but I can say that sonic’s Smashburger is 100% real beef that is not frozen. They smash it as they make it. I can attest to that because I had one yesterday. I should’ve taken a picture of it, but I am not one to take pictures of my food so I didn’t think about it.
I can tell you this —- I know the difference between old hamburger meat and fresh hamburger meat. The smasher I had yesterday was absolutely fresh hamburger meat. It was really good.
It was also layered with onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles and sauce that was fresh. Some might call it slop if you don’t like a lot of that stuff, but I do like a lot of that stuff so it suited me.
I could’ve had the drink and french fries, along with the smasher for a total of six dollars, but I opted out of the drink and the french fries. Instead I ordered a medium side of their cheese sticks because nobody in my area makes cheese sticks as good as Sonic does, it’s in the breading they use.
Since I’ve had a terrific loss of appetite after my last concussion, that meal lasted me the entire day so it was worth the six dollars for the smasher and the six dollars for the cheese sticks.
Value received is always in the eyes of the beholder who is eating the product.
