The chef's flip

Can you do the chef's flip like they show on T.V. where they flip the contents in a fry pan.?

I taught myself and now I can do it.

You have to practice it.

Yes, have been doing it for many years. Can't anymore, the wrists not what they used to be.

On certain foods like pan cakes. I do it with scrambled eggs but do it over the kitchen sink.

My "flip" would probably become a "slip". I'm not very good at that.

Nope. Cannot do it. I am reminded of last year, when I was hobbled by my broken shoulder and was in that darn sling. Tried the "one handed egg crack" you see chefs do. Not as easy at it looks.

I tried and can't do it. To hard to clean the grout in between my kitchen tile so I'll leave that little trick to the experts.

I love Julia Child!
That reminds me, I just read if you add carbonated or seltzer water to your eggs they will be light and puffy.
Anyone try that? And, more important, would Julia approve?

Master the flip by practicing using something dry like dry beans.

And for the big stuff which I haven't tried yet is use toast.

The light non stick fry pans are ideal for this.

It does help coat the ingredients and it's fun.
