Jerry Springer has passed away aged 79. I loved that show, he was brilliant at providing a stage for the worst most shameless of humanity to bring us some fine entertainment. It was not his fault, he was just the ringmaster as he said.

I used to settle down with a nice cup of tea to enjoy the spectacle.
 

I got to see a taping of a similar show- by one of the Cosby show kids. During the taping, they were yelling, throwing chairs, etc. But during the commercial break, they were calmly sitting there trying to decide where they were all going for dinner. Total fake.
 
I didn't appreciate the fact that he exploited the intellectually challenged for fame and gain. I banned my husband from watching that nonsense in this house. At least he admitted at one point that he lucked up on getting a highly rated, ridiculous show that exploited people but provided entertainment. His admission, which I saw during the report of his death, made me despise him a little less. I was surprised to see that he was a former politician, but I guess I shouldn't have been.
