Hi all, please bear with me today as I just want to give a shout out to the greatest group in soul music history, from[January 1964 to June 1968] Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, David Ruffin laid down some of the greatest songs in popular music history, but somehow it seems as though their contributions have been forgotten or maybe I'm just getting old[hehe] most folks here are fans I'm sure but for some reason I feel they get overlooked for some reason, so I'm just venting for my guys..so if you have a favorite Temps song play it today, Thanks...TEMPTATIONS FOREVER!!

Oh thank you very much for that compliment, I only wish that I was fortunate enough to sing with them, just a long time fan...big fan!
 

I saw the Temptations twice at the New York State Fair in the 1980's. Dennis Edwards was the lead singer then. I believe the rest of the line up was: Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Richard Street, & Glenn Leonard. I took some photos. I had several 8x10's. Years later, I sold them in a porch sale.

I saw them at an oldies show in the 80's. Tony Williams was the only original member. His wife and son was in the group then. He could no longer hit the high note anymore, like at the end of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes. His wife had to do the high notes. Original member Paul Robi had his group that he called "Paul Robi's Platters". Other original members were: David Lynch, Herb Reed, & Zola Taylor. Truth be told, I liked The Platters more than The Temptations.
 
My online bestie of almost two decades was in a relationship with someone who used to be the Temptations musical director "Bob" so she got to see them free whenever they were in or close to her area. If I lived on the west coast, I would have been privy too. It was a real kick for me when "Bob" asked me for feedback on one of the songs he wrote. He emailed the piano version to me and I liked it. Apparently he likes my music too and respected my musicality enough to ask my opinion.

I only saw the Temps once, in Atlantic City about 14 years ago. We were bribed with $75 cash to take a timeshare tour. We took that $75 and bought tickets to the Temps show. I was skeptical about whether or not they could hold a candle to the original Temptations and subsequent changes in the group over the decades. They did not disappoint! We wound up getting good seats and it was a great show.
