The Coming Movie "The Joker" And The Warnings Attached To It

I wouldn't go see it because of the violence, that didn't seem to stop other movie goers this past weekend. The movie did extremely well, came in # 1 with a staggering$ 93.5 mill. I'll be interested to see how well it does this upcoming weekend .It does happen sometimes when a movie gets so much pre-publicity before it opens, the following weekend the ticket sales drop either alot or not that much
As an example: "Downton Abbey' surprised some when it was the # 1 movie 2 weeks ago, with $31 mil in ticket sales, following week it was # 2 with $ 9 mil. This past weekend, wasn't in the top 5

It's the theme of the marginalized person with mental issues who finds personal power in violence rather than general movie violence itself that bothers me. War movies are violent, but people with mental health problems don't usually run out and join the military inspired by a war movie. This movie, however, portrays the type person who commits mass killings. I saw a trailer in which Joachim Phoenix's character said something like, "People are starting to take notice." ...something to that effect. That was disturbing to me. Regardless of what he or the directors say about art not impacting people, that applies to stable people. This type story can certainly affect people with psychological instability.

Well, we went and saw it last night.
Mainly because it was a new month and time to go to the movies.
Oh, and to see what all the hype was about (since I already knew the plot from decades ago)...yeah, I'm a sucker.

And, Joaquin tends to make a role....interesting.
He did well.

The movie?
It robbed me of my 8 bucks
I'd have felt robbed if it was free
....and it built throughout the show for a sequel....duh

Anyway, the nut jobs could get ideas, but one could spot them pretty easy

As for me?
Didn't bother me none

However, I did see that people were starting to take notice
But only after I left

It was a silent one
