The cow thread

I read recently where a cow jumped over the moon!!!

Yup, it was udder destruction.......
Not to dump on your pun, but cows actually jump. A lot. They jump around when they're happy, and they jump just to play.

One of our cows used to come up to me and bob her head up and down when she wanted me to jump around with her. Like, "Come on, kid, let's jump! You and me, same time....let's go!" She was so cute. Beatrice, was her name. I called her Aunt Bea.

I used to visit my Wife's Aunt's ranch where she housed a lot of cattle. I gotta say, there is nothing quite as beautiful as a new borne calf.

And yes, they do jump, and even the electric fence isn't a guarantee they will stay where they should.

The closest I have ever been to cattle was as a child during my visit to my uncle's house located on a hill. To get there, my father chose to take a shortcut across a field where there were cattle. Everyone was calm. But all I could see were the menacing horns and the huge eyes sizing me up for what I imagined was a goring and I panicked.

I used to help my ex in laws on their farm. On weekends I would take my oldest daughter with me when I went over to do chores. One day when we were there she was being hard to amuse while I was busy. She was about 2years old. We had a pen with about 15 freshly weaned piglets in it so lifted her over the pen wall and let her play with them. She and the piglets had a great time. I could hear her giggling and the piglets squealing. I kept a good ear to her and about a half hour later everything was silent. I went to the pen to be sure she was okay.
She and the piglets were curled up in the corner sound asleep. I quickly went to the house and got my MIL's camera and got a picture. I think my ex still has the picture. I would love t have it, but she won't part with it.
