The Curse, the Mobile phone

Some of those people look like they are texting each other.

Mobile phones polluting our attention? Depends on the user.

I'm on my phone frequently throughout the day. It's an essential work tool, for web surfing to find things or information for clients, for list tracking, reminders, scheduling, contact information, as a calculator, to check the weather, for camera capabilities (if I'm shopping for a client for example, and need their input on purchases) to remotely access spreadsheets I maintain for clients and many other applications.

Personally I am able to stay in much closer touch with my family, grandkids, friends. I can maintain a very close relationship with my grandchildren across the country through texting, FaceTime, voice calls, and email. My family and I routinely use group texts to manage and coordinate family get togethers, birthday party details, who's buying what for the birthday child etc. We're all on social media and share photos and details about our lives and activities. I am in touch with people literally all over the world, from Australia, to France, to Holland, England, Scotland, Mexico...everywhere. I wouldn't maintain those relationships through snail mail, it just wouldn't happen because I'd spend so much time trying to keep up with letters, sending photos etc, that I'd eventually just let it slide.

Cell phone technology has enriched my life both personally and professionally. It allows me to get way more done in a day and personally I am grateful for it.

I have a flip phone. All I use it for is to make phone calls- Geesh, that sounds SO old fashion- using a phone just to make phone calls. What do all of you phone addicted do on your phones?
I'm not addicted, but I love the text alerts I get when my credit card has been used somewhere. I have my card notifications set to "any transaction," and it's great. I can place an online order and as soon as I hit "submit," my phone pings with a message. So if someone stole my card info, I'd know immediately as soon as they tried to use it.

"i love texting which makes me less popular with my family because i dont like talking to them "
hypochondria, I don't like talking to my family either. Wanna trade?
