The difference between young and older is, when one is young one is to busy to sit down. When ones get older then they study how to make the rocking chair rock, without then doing it. Paul
Hello Paul and GDad,
How true! Really thought about the difference between old & young. I must admit when you're young you tend to be more reckless...blurting out what you think. When you get wiser you wait and then say what would be more appropriate.
Thanks for the quotes. Along the Thames
When you are young, you go out for the evening at 9:30. When you are much older, you do what gets you back home by 9:30.
Ronald Reagan said something like that!
A few years we stopped at a mini-mart and I went in to buy us a couple of bottles of water and as I was waiting in line I was looking at some of their security camera footage that was running on the screen above the pay counter and happened to notice this old bag standing in line....Oh!... it was me!So true RedRibbons !..
If we lived in a world where nobody knew how old they were.... no recollection of a birthdate.... how sweet it would be. We would be as old as we feel !
Yeah, I know... that goes out the window when you look in the mirror.... but hey !.. who cares.
I don't feel 70 but I sure look it.... I don't run as fast or jump as high but what the hell... I feel good !

lol..OH, I took my 93 year old mom shopping not long ago, the checkout girl asked if we were sisters...Lordy, its time to do something with this gray hair..
You can say anything you want because nobody listens to you anyway.
but I am not going to turn into one of those rude old people you run into, like my mom for instance, they think they can say any rude hurtful thing to anybody, just because they are old they seem to think they have free rein to be rude, no you don't. There is a big difference between speaking your mind and rudeness.
There is no excuse for bad manners, no matter what your age is.![]()
I think when we get older whatever bad or good points we have in our character, they get amplified.Totally agree, but I'm running into more and more oldsters who no longer have anything resembling a filter. They say exactly what they think no matter how rude it is. But who knows, they may have always been like that?! I avoid the type as best I can.

I don't argue with my mom, she is 85 and has enough problems, I just let her say what she wants and let it go. I'm a "rude old person" enabler :sentimental: "yes mom, whatever you say mom".Yeah, I very much agree. Just because you are the elder in a family, gives you no
right to be rude, only they do not know that they are rude. Or they don't care.
and reason that they must be respected because they are your elder.
