In 1982, I went to the Sullivan Street Theater in Manhattan, and saw the Off Broadway production of The Fantasticks. It was in its 22nd year. The musical opened there in 1960. Little did I know at the time, it would run for another 20 years. It finally closed in 2002, finishing a 42 year run. The best song in the musical is of course Try To Remember. The character El Gallo sings the song. The very first actor to play the role was Jerry Orbach. So he had the honor of being the first person to sing the song.

I am usually up on theater groups and shows, but I must admit that this is one that I have never seen.
