Watching the series is interesting. MacDonald's vs. Burger King, Pizza Hut vs. Dominos. Heinz vs. Campbells among them. It shows how they try to constantly upstage the other. The name "The Bid Mac" was a suggestion offered up by a 21 year old secretary listening in on a discussion about what to name it. The name being considered by the boss was "The Blue Ribbon Burger" but he went instead with the Big Mac and it was suggested the young secretary was handsomely rewarded for her idea. Their fish sandwich was the idea of a franchise owner that complained business was slow on every Friday because of the heavy population of Catholics in his area.
