The greatest cereal of all time...

I could easily say all, even the candy crud passed off as cereal for kids, as I’m a cereal junkie

However, I got into some granola back in the sixties

Before it got all fancy
Just grains and nuts
With a bit of raw honey drooled on top
And milk, whole, blessed milk
Never heard of it
Can’t even remember that hippie lasses name

Anyway, could never eat enough

Still can’t

Oatmeal, with a few chopped prunes, and a splash of unsweetened, plain soy milk. I eat a bowl almost every single morning.

give it a little Wilford Brimley

Porridge is THE cereal for me. None of your instant stuff that looks like glue, or stuffed with fruit or honey etc... Just Porridge Oats, water, a pinch of salt and served with milk. My favourite is Scott's Old Fashioned Porage (sic) Oats.......

I had porridge for the first time in the UK. I have oatmeal here at home on occasion, instant stuff that's not that good, but I thought I'd try it out of interest. I don't know what you guys do to make it, but I really liked it! I failed to ask the B&B people how they made it.
Can the UK people tell me what the secret is, and if I can get whatever oatmeal you guys purchase here in the states. I assume I have to cook it awhile.

I tried all different cereals but I always come back to corn flakes. Sometimes with a banana if I happen to have one. A few years back they made them with freeze dried strawberries. I loved them but maybe not many people did or it was to expensive to make. I haven't seen them in years.

I buy whatever is on sale and I mix and match.

Right now I am mixing Corn Flakes, Wheat squares, and Cheerios. I don't buy anything with raisins in it because they are as hard as a brick.

I use Almond milk. No sugar. I do add fruit like blueberries, bananas, or applesauce, or whatever is in season.

At one time I was an oatmeal fan. I put ice cream on hot oatmeal.

Cereal is for people who can't afford to eat bacon and eggs. I feel sorry for them.
