The Green Mile (II) Maybe?

I read in the newspaper yesterday that Hollywood is planning to make a Part II. Some of the original players will be in the movie, including Hanks and his sidekick, Brutus Howell. The original movie was one of my favorites, but I am a huge fan of Stephen King, whose book was turned into a screenplay for the original movie. I am not a fan of Tom Hanks, but not because of his acting, but because of personal reasons.

John Coffey, the enormous black prisoner will be in the movie by using flashbacks and I believe AI technology. Other original players will be replaced, if the movie becomes a real project for the screen. Let’s hope so.

I think going forward, we may see more AI being used in the movies. I liked the original movie and probably would go see a part two. If it bombs, I wouldn’t be surprised, but I hope not.

Hopefully, the movie will come to fruition.

I didn't realize it was going to be a fantasy story when I went to the movies to see it.

I was enjoying everything up until Coffey did a magic trick and then I was out. I remember saying out loud, "Whaaat?? You gotta be kidding me. This is what this story is about? A guy with magical powers?"

It made no sense to the story up to that point. Lame.

An interesting side note. I encountered the actor, Morse, at a shopping mall. He was just walking around. Not sure if he was observing people for acting purposes or not. I simply asked him if he was in The Green Mile and he said yes. I walked away because people were starting to gather.

The movie was a story based on a Stephen King novel. If you know anything about his novels, he writes about weird or odd stories. Remember the movies Pet Sematary and The Shining? I think he wrote 70 novels of weird stories.

At that time I didn't know it was a Steven King story. I went to see it because I liked the actors in it.

The movies I did like by Steven King were Shawshank Redemption, The Dead Zone with Christopher Walken, Dolores Claiborne with Kathy Bates, Carrie with Sissy Spacek.
I hated The Shining because it was more comical to me than scary. I wanted the screaming woman (Olive Oyl) to die so she would shut up.

I also liked Thinner and Carrie.

I remember the morning I saw The Green Mile. It came on after another movie and by then it was after midnight. I had no intention of watching the entire movie, but it grabbed me, so I did. It's such a shame that Michael Clark Duncan died so young. When I read the title of your thread, I wondered who would they get to replace him. It will be interesting to see if flashbacks and AI generated scenes help make it a good film.
