On Saturday nightsI think I must have watched every episode of "The Honeymooners".
If I'm not mistaken "The Honeymooners" started as a regular skit on Gleason's variety show (along with "The Poor Slob", Reggie Van Gleason, the bartender skits, and others.

The Honeymooners-----I was about 10 when my parents watched that show. I instantly hated it for the way Jackie Gleason treated Alice....and her for the way she took it most of the time. I was also appalled at the phrase ' One day, Alice, to the moon' My father laughed and my mother sat next to me and pretended to knit but I saw her face.
It seems that precieved violence and cruelty on tv hasn't changed much. The stuff made now is so dark, I now watch reruns of the Waltons, which too, is not without its' challenges.
