The horror and outrage

Getting out into nature just isn't what it used to be...

... plus there's the traffic to deal with getting there and back.

This is the reason I have changed how and where I go when I want to go bush.
Too many people now, very hard to find peace and quite. I have to go further, and off track to find a secluded spot.
Sometimes this is brought undone. I once went many miles and walked a long way thinking that I would not encounter anyone. Wrong.
Half an hour of peace then along came a group of Japanese tourists, heard them a mile away. I said to myself, "Get out of my little slice of paradise":)
No use going into the bush during school holidays. Noisy children everywhere.
Best time for me to go into the Aussie bush would be winter time. I love being out there in the rain. It never gets frigid cold and there usually is no one else around.

So very true @Nathan

I'm lovin' the convenience of town

but

I so miss the quietude and splendor of our mountain place

Guess I should take that trip up there
savor some of nature a bit

Throw a log on the fire, sip a hot cup of java, and nestle into a good book

There's just no replacing that

It's a romance of the soul
Best you wait til late spring, tho.

I lived in the middle of the state forest and I miss it terribly. But I had no choice due to health reasons to leave so here I am. At least I can live it in my memories every day. I never watch the news and do not talk about it with anyone either. I think if I had my own transportation, I would be out in the forest regularly. I even loved it covered with snow so that would not stop me. Being in the forest does something magical to me....an inner peacefulness.

Forest Bathing, it's a thing. :)

"Forest bathing and forest therapy (or shinrin-yoku) broadly means taking in, in all of one’s senses, the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. It was developed in Japan during the 1980s, and in 1982 Japan made this form of mobile meditation under the canopy of living forests a part of its national health program. Researchers, primarily in Japan and South Korea, have established a growing body of scientific literature on the diverse health benefits."

"Physiological Effects of Forest Bathing: From Lowered Cortisol to Greater Parasympathetic Nerve Activity.

Forest Bathing Increases Human Natural Killer Activity & Expression of Anti-Cancer Proteins.

Forest Environments/Bathing Lead to Significant Reduction in Blood Pressure.

Short Forest Bathing Experience Significantly Lowers Pulse Rate, Blood Pressure, While Reducing Anxiety."

I can't go far from home but my way of relaxing is watching videos of nature with animals and birds and beautiful landscapes and other wonderful scenery. It's accompanied by soft music and sounds of nature. I figure it's the next best thing to being way out there.
I love to go into nature but I also love watching u-tube and nature and animal scenes while hearing beautiful music. I often fall asleep listening to rain on u-tube...
