The Human Touch..

I access all of my accounts online. I deposit any occasional checks via my bank's mobile app on my phone. I frequently order from Amazon.

But when it comes to grocery shopping I enjoy doing that in person. I spend every other day at Albertson's, Tom Thumb, Sprouts, Central Market, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.

It provides convenience and the ability to socialize. Best of both worlds.

I like going to my bank. I've known the staff there for years and we talk quite a bit, so it's kind of fun. I do a lot of on-line banking though, so I don't see them as much as I used to.

As far as grocery shopping, I wish I could make myself get up at 6am to shop and have the store to myself! :)

Early this morning just got the neighbor's 2 cats into her carriers...they keep running over to our property and they seem to like it here as much or more than their house - they have 2 kids and 2 dogs so maybe the cats care to socialize with us, who knows. They get fat and happy while here, grab a few moles and try for a bird or two. Affection is affection!

I do both. The online stuff saves time and because Ron and I both still work full time there’s never enough free time to get everything done
There’s no reason for a hard line between virtual and in person shopping or business.

Some things I need to see, touch, try on, work with, before I buy them. Other things I know exactly what I want and have no problem ordering or re-ordering online.

There are clothing brands I will buy from Amazon because I know exactly how they will fit and what my size is in that brand so no need to shop/try on in person. Other household items that are “subscribe and save” Amazon items. Dog food that I order from Walmart when I need it…just hit the reorder button and with a couple clicks it’s on its way.

The fact that much of my life is automated through online shopping, banking, virtual doctor visits etc means that I have more time for the in-person things I DO enjoy doing!

I love to grocery shop for example! I have no interest in doing that online, same for some clothes shopping and select household items. And because I save so much time by doing the less desirable shopping online, I can really enjoy and take my time doing the in person stuff!

I always buy things that I wasn’t planning on so really don’t know why stores are pushing online shopping for groceries.
I find it very annoying when I'm shopping for groceries and these "kids" (or so it seems to me) come around with their monster shopping cards loading up groceries for people that can't or wouldn't shop for themselves. It is just as bad with people standing in the middle of the lane starring at their phones and just plain getting in my way. My 3rd beef are people standing blocking the exit door starring at their receipts. Why can't they move to the side. Are people becoming cows?

I’m one of those people guilty of standing in the aisle staring at their phones!! 😖🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m sorry!

I don’t know what other folks are doing when they do that, but *I* am either consulting the grocery list on my phone, OR looking up a recipe to see what ingredient(s) I can substitute for an ingredient that’s on my list but that I can’t find. I know it’s annoying. I TRY to keep out of everyone’s way, but often I get the sense that someone is irritated with me JUST BECAUSE I’m staring at my phone! 🤷‍♀️ If I were looking at a piece of paper I feel like they wouldn’t be anywhere near as irritated or even maybe not at all!

There seems to be an assumption made that because I’m on my phone I HAVE to be doing something frivolous or unrelated to shopping!
