that happened to a friend just recently. For any of you who may be Comcast customers.
Her words..
I logged on recently and before I could sign in I got a warning window that my account had been accessed by a third party and I needed to change my password. Then, my security question, which I answered correctly, kept saying incorrect information. Next a Xfinity ( looked totally real) on line chat page pop up asking if I needed help. I explained briefly my problem but when she wrote that she needed my entire SSN to proceed, the red flag went up and I ended the chat. OK, Comcast customer service over the phone was quite alarmed They NEVER ask for your full SSN only for the last four and she thinks the warning and the chat box were hackers. I did have a few emails about two weeks ago that were sent from my email with weird links but not by me, so I changed my password after that. Seems they tried again and when they couldn't get in, they tried with the warning and the chat pop up. Change your passwords and if anything strange happens, call and speak to someone. Don't do the online chat until they can look into this further.
