The Israelis Are Doing the World a Big Favor

Generally, we think in terms of Arabs vs Jews, but I think it's more accurately Islamic vs Jewish. "Persian" doesn't seem like an important distinction in the context of the conflict, although it is correct dating back to some date further in the past when an ethnic group first identified itself as such. But I'm not sure that's what this conflict is about.
could be about "who's got the best religion"? and I'm gonna fight ya for it?

Some say that if you turn to religion it can solve all your problems - others say it gives you more?

I remember reading quite a few years back that in those ancient times if a walking traveler entered a ME village [ whatever creed] carrying a bible he was welcomed immediately as a man of the book and taken in for food and shelter? something changed heh?

As long as he's not carrying the Torah, he can have tea (and then move on).

I remember back in the late 70's, The Shaw's pilots were being trained to fly the new F15's in Arizona.

In 1970 when In was in the Air Force at Sheppard AFB Texas we had Iranians in pilot training there. Pissed us off because we were told we had to salute them because they were officers. I was an E-2 at the time.

you were saluting the position not the person?

My God can beat up you're God.
Sort of like Christian followers have psalms, Mohamed's followers have hadiths....or maybe they're more like Revelations, but anyway, some Muslims believe that some parts of the hidith say that they must eliminate all Jews as a matter of survival.

That's it. That's what the whole thing is about. It's not about land, it's not about power, it's not who's god is greater. It's a belief about who's going to live and who isn't; like, if that Jew is allowed to live, then I can't.

@smiley The hidth says it's ok to break bread with Christians...so that's where that comes from. It even says it's ok to live as a neighbor, but keep an eye on them; something like that.

"Iran has been behind most of the instability in the Middle East for at least the past two decades. Its militias ignited Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and enabled Islamic State to develop across parts of the Arab world. Hezbollah, its proxy in Lebanon and Syria, kept the dreadful Assads in power for a generation and enabled the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. I saw Hezbollah up close in Syria for 10 years and I saw this year the huge joy of the Syrian people when the Iran-backed militia was vanquished there.

Iran has also directed the Houthis to bring global shipping to its knees and backs the bloody-handed murderers of Hamas. But the mullahs’ grand strategic plan has always been to develop a nuclear arsenal. This would have been an intolerable danger not only to Israel but to other
nations"

I'm so sorry, but how much checking did you do here? Israel started this war, not Iran. I'm interested to know how you sifted propaganda from fact.

Apparently, from what I've read, the Fordo nuclear enrichment facility is still online. It will take bunker-busters to take it out as it was first designed to withstand air strikes. Fordo is built deep within a mountain. Israel doesn't have bunker-busters in its inventory and is trying to get them from the U.S.

Three structures destroyed: some sort of warehouse, a facility for the production of metallic uranium, and an enriched uranium conversion facility. Not sure, but, as far as production goes, I think it's safe to say the facility is offline.

Arab countries aren't as united against "the west" as they once were. They like doing business with the west. They like the whole idea of global trade.

The a majority of the Iranian people themselves - the people, especially the ones who've been around for over 40 years - are not content.

Here's some pictures worth a thousand words...

before the revolution, 1970s Iran

protesting the revolution, 1979

post-revolution, forced hijab, no unaccompanied women, women can't drive, nobody can dance, etc.
iran post revolution.jpg

Also, private businesses stopped flourishing, innovation slowed, gov't took over the media 100%, etc, but apparently, we can only load up so-many photos per post.

This is why most Iranians are not unhappy about what's going on right now.

To truly get a perspective on this you need to read articles that are not aimed at the US market. I love you Americans, but a clear and honest view of Israel and what it's doing is not possible there. IMO.

And please, I'm not aiming this comment at anyone here, and I don't mean to upset the board members. It's simply how I - honestly - feel about it all in a generalized way.

What's next - bomb China because of the drugs they're producing and their threats on Taiwan? Bomb Russia because of its international terrorism? Bomb North Korea because it has enslaved a whole country? Did we learn nothing from Iraq and Afghanistan? I guess not. The US will soon be bombing Iran itself, just as soon as the military has everything in place. So yet another war.
