The joys of travel... thanks for letting me vent!

A small rant, I don't like the misuse of 'momentarily' which means FOR a moment, not IN a moment. Well it does in the UK. Why can't they just say 'Soon'?
I know, I Know, I KNOW! It really irritates me. And then there is beginning sentences with “basically” but going into long rants peppered with “in terms of” and "multiple", looking for an excuse to use “physically” as in “I physically went to his house last week”. I actually heard someone say, “I contacted George telephonically this morning”. My God!
'Once in France you can actually continue deeper into the continent, did you know?' Well, yes I did know, and France got in the way of my travels to Germany. I never used the tunnel, always preferring the ferry via. Dunkirk and through Belgium.
But how does France get in the way of your travels to Germany? Did you get bogged down singing Christmas Carols across the trenches along the Maginot Line?

Ft. Lauderdale is a small airport and airlines will run most of their connections through FLL. I flew for United for 33 years and only went through FLL maybe twice. I got stuck there both times due to severe thunderstorms.

You may have done better going through Miami. Miami runs a lot of International flights and therefore; they are better equipped with maintenance on site. I know sometimes you don’t have a choice, but sometimes you do. Next time you book a trip try to book through a larger airport.

I flew to Cleveland last week for two days. I was to leave at 5:50 a.m. When I got to the airport, they had a very heavy frost. I actually saw ice on the wings. I immediately went up to the cockpit, (the door was still open), and I strongly suggested that they consider getting deiced before takeoff.

I knew the Captain from back when I flew and I asked him to go outside and take a look. He told me he was going to take my word for it and we were deiced with number 1 fluid. I felt a lot better on takeoff. The Captain thanked me as I exited the aircraft.

Interesting story. I think the problem is that just too many people are traveling. As for cruises well, there are also too many of them. With the high number of travelers things are going to go wrong.

I am also flying to Fort lauderdale just before Christmas and coming back in the middle of January. I bet something will go wrong. We all know travel is not what it used to be but it sure is a big money maker to a lot of people!
Enjoy your time in Fort Lauderdale. It should be beautiful!

What about having a dog sitting in the seat next to you? Apparently, here in Canada there seems to be more and more of these people taking their "emotional support" animals to grocery stores, events and even on air flight. If that don't take the cookie, then what will?
I don't agree with people taking their pets on interstate travel (except people who have guide dogs). Imagine a pet sitting next to me on a plane and never taking their eyes off me, that would spook the hell out of me. We have a cafe here in Sydney where people can take their cats and also the owners have cats wondering around the place. No thanks!!

Calm and steady in the pursuit of our goals.

OK

So it is that bad.
No, it's not, but it is not my country to romp around and have fun in. There are too many rules, problems, potentialities from both governments. For example, the "Real ID" that we will be required to have in 2025. To participate is to encourage them in my opinion. Let them eat cake --or do their job without harassing the population.

Then it is so bad that you haven't been there since 1957.

Just for clarification to anyone reading this (I thing GL knows this already):
Since 2009, US citizens over the age of 16 have needed passports to enter Canada.
Real IDs are for air travel within the US.

Countries have become more security minded. No surprise, really.
