The little trains of Wales are wonderful, one day I will get there. In the meantime, there was one main line that was axed along with 11.000 miles of track and infrastructure in the 1960's. That main line was known as The Great Central Railway. Today just under twenty miles of it is run by volunteers, it's known as a heritage railway.
One their most popular events is called: "War on the Line." A weekend is given over to life during WW2 in Britain. One of their stations has a station masters house in period detail, just as it was during the war.

Everyone dresses the part, and whilst re-enactors in uniform are abundant, there are also those who enjoy looking like their parents.
