The library can be noisy at times

My library does have a playtime for kids, so I just avoid going at that time or sit far enough away so I don't hear the noise. But even when it's not playtime, parents are there letting their kids run wild, or adults are conversing loudly. Only if it gets to the point where kids are screaming or adults are yelling, that is when a librarian or the security guard will step in. What happened going to the library and it was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop, not anymore.

Our local library is attached to a school it’s dangerous in my opinion the kids run riot / lay all over the floor / sit on desks where computers are so it prevents anyone using the computers

Ive only been in there recently to take a book bask I borrowed from another library 25 km away I don’t need to use computers I’ve got my own

I went to the library today. There are always a few homeless-looking individuals at the computers, but today there was one sound asleep, head down on the desk, and snoring like a buzz-saw. One of the librarians came over and woke him up and informed him sternly that he needed to stay awake and sitting upright or he would have to leave.

He sat up but appeared to be back asleep as I was leaving.

Normally, it's a very quiet library. There is a kids' section and you can hear the kids occasionally, but it's not obtrusive. I especially love to see the kids reading to the library dog, a Golden Retriever.

Things have definitely changed.

I used to be a regular in our main library’s research area but it has now been closed to the public…might as well burn the materials and find a public use for the space.

Our main library has become an informal warming center for homeless people.

The smaller branch libraries offer a variety of programs geared towards young children.

I agree that children need to be well behaved but I’m ok with the library becoming more of an interactive media center.
