23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

That was my mother's favorite. She didn't share a lot so it was significant.

publicly recited it as a kid in many church events back in the 'good old days' - I was brought up in one of Englands biggest seaport cities and as a kid of 9 yrs wandered around on school hols all over my parents hadn't a clue where I was and anyway were working - now tell me we are having better days now for our kids??

How I know that pain Holly, my mother passed at the age of 36 leaving Dad with four children to raise alone, he did it too, it wrecked his health but he would have sacrificed that, and anything else, for the love of his children and the memory of the love of his life. His choice of psalm at mother's funeral was Psalm 121: "I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?"
Many years later he told me that when he felt lost, he would raise his eyes and whisper his wife's name: "What now Hilda?" Somehow something just seemed to happen and he, and his kids, were back on track.
I pray that "something" might help ohioboy.

John 10:27-30

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”

“May God have mercy upon your soul.”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
This is my next favourite verse from the bible. I know a song , or hymn thats based on this verse and it’s a beautiful song.

Check out this video, "for god so loved the world"
