The MLB team with the largest fan base ? The Blue Jays are supported by an entire country.

As the only Canadian team in MLB, the Blue Jays have fans in every part of Canada. Wherever they play, the blue shirts are in the stands. Even in the south, Canadians who live down there are going to come out to support their team. In US cities near the border like Detroit, Seattle, and Minnesota, the Blue Jays fans will be very evident. JimB.

Hi Jim B, I think that's great, such devotion to the team
I was a die hard Blue Jays fan back in the late 80's early 90's when they won the World Series not once but twice I think that really shocked many baseball fans. I live in Buffalo,NY so I could watch some games either on CBC,CTV or ESPN Sue

The Blue Jays have tried hard to encourage fans who live far away, to fly to Toronto on discounted flights on West Jet. If you can supply a Government ID that shows you live outside Ontario, your ticket is half price for any game. JImB.

I admit that I do miss the Expos. Never a fan but I loved their uniforms and some of the players that played on that team. Living in Phoenix, I don't hear too much about the Blue Jays much like you probably don't hear a lot about the Diamondbacks but I do know they have a good organization and a rabid fan base.

The current Blue Jays first base man is the son of Vladamir Gurrera, who played for the EXPOS. HIs son is a Canadian citizen because he was born in Montreal. There are 4 Canadian players on the current Blue Jay's roster. The Rogers Centre underwent a 70 million dollar reno during the off season, with 4 new outfield bars/table seating, and a new Jumbo Tron score board. Maximum seating is now just under 50,000 fans. The Jays can sell out even a Monday night game in July or August. Dollar hot dog night on Tuesday sees more than 50 thousand dogs sold. The 50/50 monthly draw pays over a million to the winner, every month of the season, tax free. The Jays management donates 10 million dollars a year to the Toronto Hospital For Sick Children, every year. A wonderful community corporate group. JImB.

I was an Oriole fan from childhood up until the Dbacks entered the league so always rooted against the Blue Jays. Of course not as much as I did against the Yankees  . I'm glad the Blue Jays were able to keep fans interested in the team at a time when other teams were struggling to bring fans to the park. I just read an article that due to the changes this year, attendance is up and interest in the sport is growing. Good to see it making a comeback. Sounds like a lot of teams (including the Dibacks) could learn a lot from the Blue Jays.

I know it's a different sport, but I do know of a hockey team looking for a new home. Perhaps Toronto could use another hockey team there ?

The NHL board of Governors has said, more than once, that any move of the Arizona team will be to another US city, not to Canada. The Blue Jays have a very active farm system, and they tend to bring their younger players to the AAA team in Buffalo, as a way to have them nearby, if one of the regular players is injured.
