The Modern World

Thanks @Furryanimal. I agree totally with this. Always a nature lover, I am spending more time there and less in this manufactured world where everyday presents us with some new crisis.

The world changes, it has always done so. You can go with it, ignore it or go for a mix of both. Forums like this one, for like minded people, have helped many a lonely person, on the other hand, buying online has created waste lands of once thriving town centres.

For my part, I have never seen Facebook and it's ilk, never bought anything online, although I have done so by phone and I still put my finger in the dial when making a phone call. Email is something that I have yet to master, but texting is a way of life. My so called smart phone is far to smart for me, phone calls and texts are about my limit. Cash is still my preferred choice as a medium of expenditure, cards and electronic payments are profiled, Big Brother has no idea how much or what I have bought, this Christmas.

The world changes, how you deal with it is up to you.

Furryanimal, it's always been a "Modern World". At sometime, instead of clubbing to death prey, some research group figured out a contraption to shoot sticks into prey. Now, if the gods wanted you to shoot sticks, why would they make clubs so plentiful?
You could give up the modern world, find a bear to skin, and live in the nearest cave..........??? Yeah, "new' gets to us, but it's a lot better than the "old".

Oh so true... and what's worse is that because of that so many people have turned into snowflakes.. offended at everything and anything.. depressed because they're life is 'Not Happy'' and in fact ''depressed'' . as they witness Celebrities living the lives that so many believe they are entitled to.... .. and more worryingly.. over 40 % of Teenagers when asked recently about their future prospects and their wishes for a career said the hoped to become ''Social Media Influencers''.. good God if that's the case.. we're going to be in a lot of trouble when we have no Doctors, scientists, Surgeons.. and even dustmen and street cleaners ...and everyone is sitting on Youtbe making what I bought this week at the Dollar store.. videos.. and how to cook and egg in a Non non-stick frying pan..
