If you watched the news on 11/01you are aware of the surge in new TV services like Hulu and Netflix, etc. Many members here have dropped cable & satellites to sign up for some of them. This appears to be like Blockbuster Video stores drying up in view of new technologies.

A few years ago we dropped DirecTV and switched to antenna. Rick's little man cave TV had a firestick attached. And the big TV is smart, SO I can stream to the TV. We HAD Hulu, and Prime too. After he went, I gave his firestick to a friend, Dropped Hulu, picked Up Netflix and signed up for cable. My Prime expires end of the year, and I am not going to renew.
I really missed cable service, and between that, Netflix and all I can get on You Tube I am more than set.

We have (Firestick) no commercial Hulu, Netflix and Prime + all the free stuff...Way more to watch..

We cut the cable about 16 years ago. Now we just have ROKU & subscribe to BritBox TV. I still buy DVDs from Amazon such as Gunsmoke, The Streets of San Francisco, Quincy & Rifleman. Don't want cable & don't want Netflex. Not interested in new shows. Too much swearing & too much violence. Not good for the heart & not good for your peace of mind. LOL
