The Nighthawk Thread

I think our City should mandate that Halloween be on the last Saturday of every October.

It would be much easier for parents and young children who don't have to get up for work and school the next day. It would also be a set night for house parties...for bars and restaurants...etc. And safer for the little ones running around late at night without homebound traffic to deal with.

Thoughts?

I think I'll email my local constituent with the Halloween Night idea and see if I can get any feedback on it.

Busy day coming up...

Gotta drive my adult daughter to work for 7am. Grocery run for my 86 year old parents. Then I work mid-afternoon...then a game of Chess with an old buddy at the local Pub later in the evening.

Decades ago in my 20's, I went to the local Pharmacy to purchase some cream for dry skin.

It was nearly Halloween and the store was selling costume accessories as well. I was to dress as a Police Officer for the occasion, so I also picked up a pair of fake handcuffs to go with my costume.

I thought nothing of it when I went to the cash with handcuffs and a bottle of lotion, but noticed some giggles in the line-up and a strange look on the cashier's face. It wasn't until I got in my car that I realized i looked like...

THE BIGGEST PERVERT IN THE WORLD!!!

Another night of waking up and not being able to fall asleep again.
I will go back to bed to read for awhile.
That sometimes makes my eyes tired enough to nod off.
Nothing important to do later on today, thank goodness.

Re: Halloween .. I can recall times when Halloween activities were pushed to occur on a Friday evening,
rather than a Thursday night. Perhaps they do that other places too.

I worked a 4X4 night shift job from 6 PM to 6 AM for a while. It was bloody murder. Driving home it was a struggle staying awake. I would get home as the sun rose, eat and try to sleep as the day got brighter, but was lucky to get 4 hours. Then it was get dressed and do it again.

It's 5:20 am, if time allows I like to stop by, see whose awake. I'm getting ready for work so I can't hang around for long, and it can be quite addictive hanging out here so better get on with what I was doing.

12:34 am here in Florida. Some nights I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow, others, like tonight, will be a fitful tossing and turning episode.

Makes sense except that by definition, Hallowe'en is the night before All Souls Day, therefore that would also have to be moved to another date. If you're a religious person, you might have objections to that.

I think Christmas Day should always be on a Sunday but, again, the date is significant.

I'm up and running on Diet Coke tonight. Sometimes I like to have some but not often. At least I got a few things done around here. Washed and dried a huge load of laundry. I have more to wash but it can wait.

Hello to everyone!

Ever since I was a kid, at 10:59 PM, I can't keep my eyes open, I'm drifting off to sleep. At 11;00 PM, I'm wide awake, alert, and raring to go, till about 3ish. I try to force myself into the up at 8, bed by 11, but that lasts only a few days. There's an alarm clock next to my liver, or some place, that wakes me up at 11 PM.

Good morning, it's 5:30am and I really must get my skates on. A quick check on the forum and the first post read: "Do You Ever Get Tired and Bored With Your Life?" Fat chance of that. I'm up at 4:45am every morning, it's the only part of still working that I find hard but once in the bathroom, scrubbed up, teeth cleaned and ready to go, I'm up for it. Bored? I don't think so. I could tell you about our love of ballroom dancing or my wife's creative skills making our clothes, our social circle and the vintage festivals we like. Mustn't for get Jessica, she's our vintage MG that we take out on days out with other MG owners. But right now I'm off to work. Catch you later, have a great day.

It's 1:06 am and I've just taken a lovely bubble bath. My dog came in the bathroom snooping around and looking at me like "what you doin?" She will get a bath tomorrow or Saturday, whichever day I've got more energy.

Listening to some nice blues, staying up all night tonight trying to get my hours back to normal, whatever that is....lol

Anybody around?

It's about 1:30 AM here. I've been up playing some Eric Clapton licks on my electric guitar. I play in the basement so I don't have to worry about disturbing the neighbors. I think I'll hit the sack, now.

Always stay up until around 2.00 AM, mainly because that is when my internet is much faster (Downloading movies etc)then off to bed and sleep like a log until about 10.00 AM, some of us are Early birds, I am a Night owl.
