When I was 15 years old I developed warts on the bottom of both feet. I went weekly to a specialist who carved them out (one or two per visit) the put a acid into the wound. It was so painful I could barely take it. I had to use crutches to go to school. This went on for several weeks and finally when I showed up for a treatment, the doctor told me that another doctor who he worked with had attended a seminar and learned of a brand new treatment which could clear up warts in a month or less with no surgery. It was a pill that had to be taken once a day and I was cautioned that if I missed a dose it would set back treatment another week or so. I took that pill religiously and in week I could see the warts diminishing in size. Two more weeks and they were all gone leaving no sign that they had ever been there. It was years later that my Dad old me it was a placebo. It worked a miracle for me.
