The Population of Cities

I thought that London was busy, with a large population of
around 7 Million people, then I saw part of a TV Programme,
about Mexico City, that I know nothing about, has 22 Million
people and the quickest way to get around it is by cable car,
it has several stations, but I think that they will be in a straight
line!

How many live in your city?

Mike.

Over 2 million people now in Santa Clara County. I live amidst a very urban upscale zone. Overpopulation is a factor in many of modern mankind's worst problems.

1.3 million in the city of Dallas. Many who work in the city live well outside in the suburbs. Plano is a major suburb and is 25 miles outside of Dallas. We had never even heard of Prosper, TX until we had friends move there. We discovered it was a thriving community and was exactly 50 miles from our home in Dallas. We live in a suburban area right outside the city.

actually Mike we're over 9 million now....in 2019 it was just under 9 million... so now in 2023 it was 9,648,000,...and those are just the ones we know about...

London = 1,572 square Kilometres = 606.95 square miles

7.3 million in Toronto, according to Statistics Canada.
A slight correction...The city of Toronto is about 3 million, while the Greater Toronto Area ( including the 4 surrounding cities of Mississauga, Brampton, York Region, and Durham Region ) makeup the 7 million figure you mentioned. About a third of Canada's 40 million population lives in the Province of Ontario. JimB.

I would like some NYC people to leave. I'm not thinking poor or homeless right now, I'm thinking of everyone with CARS, except for my son, of course. It's the traffic I hate the most.

Warms my heart to see you paying attention! ❤️ Yes, it's a walking city and I only complain about cars when I am in one! Usually, I walk.
I fought the good fight driving to the south Bronx every day for 30 years. I wish that all those people clogging the roads on the way to Manhattan had taken mass transit for sure!

We live in a quiet rural area, and every time we go to any of the area cities, it seems that the traffic continues to get worse. I guess people have "adapted" to the increase in fuel costs over the past 3 or 4 years.

The metro area population of Las Vegas in 2023 was 2,899,000, a 2.11% increase from 2022.

Adapting to traffic flow can be a challenge for some. Major cross streets typically have speed limit of 45. Most drive at 60.
Other than that shopping or other needs are really close so no need to drive everywhere.
