The price of gas

I love asking young people if when they are elderly will they like paying $30.00 for a gallon of gas. When they ask why I tell them that I can remember when gas was less than $0.30 per gallon! 10% of what it is now here in Texas, USA. It WOWs them.

I remember less than $0.30 a gallon but that was before I turned 16 and got a license to drive.
In '69 when I turned 16, I paid $0.32 a gallon.
The girlfriend and I could basically spend the weekend together and do stuff everywhere for under $20
Then again, she was like gasoline ... dangerous, addictive, and left a trail of destruction.

I remember the old gimme two dollars worth or three dollars worth days.

I also remember how low my income was back then.
