The price of toothpaste

I usually get it at Dollar General, same brand, size and variety. The last time I bought, it was about $2.50. When I looked today there wasn't ANY tube less than $6.

Also the Hormel "Compleats" meals that used to be $1 are now $2.50.

I think that we Americans have gotten soiled over the past couple of decades where we spent less of our dollar on food staples Not so much any more.

Lots of contributing factors, no doubt, and I fear it's the new normal...

I’ve noticed it at the $tore.

It seems like they will have to revise their business model if they are to survive.

If labor costs continue to rise at every step in the process prices have to go up.

Senior citizens that rely on Social Security as their primary source of income will be impacted the most.

Regular toothpaste does a good job removing plaque build-up. Hell, baking soda does a good job removing plaque build-up, and for mere pennies. For $6 I'd expect a lot better than a good job.

Sensodine is one of pricier ones in Canada. Think it was ~$4.75, for the regular size on sale last week.

I liked Colgate Zero and now they’ve quit selling it here.

A big tube of Aim costs $.85 at WM or Kroger.. It has all the stuff the others do & is a nice minty gell. The stores hide it on the bottom shelf so it will be hard to find, haha, and you’ll buy the more expensive. Have used it for many years.

I think that toothpaste and oral hygiene is just another way for big
corporations to control us! I'm going to see what they say on
