The Problems of Going Someplace with Someone

Over my lifetime I have I have gone places or traveled with many different people including family, everything from going to a store to two week vacations. It seemed liked I was always the one who had to compromise. The last couple out of state trips I took with my cycling club I ended up doing the rides alone because I was so frustrated at people showing up late expecting others to wait that I just took off.

Now I avoid things like that, or if I do go I will travel myself and stick to my own agenda. I may be perceived as an ass but I don't care, my days of compromising are done.

My mom and I used to go to church suppers. My mom was a very SLOW eater. I'd be done and she'd just be half-way through a scoop of mashed potatoes. One time the people in charge of a supper made her stand up in the corner of the dining room to finish because they had to set up the place settings for the next sitting.

I prefer shopping alone .. am not one to dawdle. Meeting for lunch or dinner is enjoyable, and then again, I don't care to sit too long afterward, though I enjoy conversing.
Yeah, I like to just get what's on my list and get out. That's grocery shopping, and I prefer to go alone. I always used to take Paxton with me, though. If he looked bored sitting there in the cart, I'd swoop and spin down the isle dancing to the piped-in music, or stop and pantomime and play my air-drums, and he'd bop to the beat and laugh at me.

Good times.

Michelle does the shopping for everything else...cleaning products and household stuff and whatnot, and when she shops for clothes she usually gets some for me, too. Last week she brought home 3 pairs of sweatpants with cargo pockets and a 6-pack of t-shirts for me. Winter's coming.

Like to an event or shopping.

1) they want to start out earlier or later than you want.

2) they are either done way before you are and want to leave, or they take a lot longer than you and you end up waiting for them.
Depends on how well I know the person I am with. There have been times I have chosen not to go somewhere because I do not drive and I didn't want to be stuck.

This is why I am a loner.
otherwise you end up obliging their wishes and schedules and not yours.....they in effect are assigning you tasks and your schedule and not you-- I don't like it, and avoid it as much as possible regardless of hurt feelings......
