"55 years ago , The Beatles entered EMI Abbey Road Studios for what would arguably be the most revolutionary week of their recording career. Working closely with their beloved producer George Martin and an eager young EMI engineer named Geoff Emerick, the band developed a slew of innovative new techniques that would forever change their sound and the sound of pop music".

"The song "Rain", born out of these sessions and released as the B-side to Paperback Writer in mid-1966, would be the world's first glimpse into the brilliant new ideas and sounds that burst forth on the landmark Revolver album in August 1966".

I've seen this video before and it's well worth watching again. An amazing amount of work went into the Beatles recordings, which is one reason they've held up after all these years, but the main reason is, they're great songs.

55 years ago... just wants you to start sceeching... Nooooooooo it can't be 55 years...I was just 5 years old when they formed as the Beatles..
Oh, Holly, you were just a little kid. How interesting to discover them at that age. I was a fourteen year-old twit.

well I didn't really know they existed tbh..until they released the film 'Help''.. when I was taken to see it..., even then they made no impression on me, I thought these grown men were being silly..

TBH I was never a fan of the Beatles ..only really George & Ringo......and I enjoyed George's music solo and in the Travelling Wilbury's until he died, and still do

When I was a teen I Bought My sweet Lord , then John & Yoko's Happy Xmas war is over.. and then a couple of years later Photograph by Ringo....I still have all those 45's

I eventually came to enjoy some music by the Beatles..Norwegian wood, and a few others, but in reality never a fan of their music...

Yes, they were being silly to a lot of people's enjoyment.
George Harrison's solo work was/is beautiful and I loved him with the Traveling Wilburys.
Their peace and love stuff meant a lot to me at the time . . . because of the time...
