The return of the realtor

The older man that is a real estate agent that stopped at my sale last weekend returned today. He wanted to see more of the interior. He seemed impressed and didn't complain about any pet odors, although he said I had a fuel leak. What I think he smelled was the furniture polish I had recently been using to dust with. He said that the agent that told me that my house was a tear-down was a %#@*& idiot. But he did say what everyone else has been telling me - I have to start getting rid of the contents or I will never be able to move.

I did look at his business Web page. He only has 2 houses for sale at the present.

If you are serious about selling I would encourage you to seek out the most successful realtor in town.

Successful realtors don't want to have their signs rusting on people's front lawns with grass growing up around them it's bad for their reputation.

They may not tell you what you want to hear but they will get the house sold if you work with them to prepare the property for sale at a reasonable price.

Often times the amateur/part-time realtors will let the client decide what the price/terms should be to get their signature on the listing agreement. That way they can tie up the property for several months in the hopes that they can wear the client down and get them to take a lower offer.

Deb, I'm beginning to believe that you need two homes the current house to store your possessions and a smaller more convenient home to actually live in.

Good luck!

Doesn't seem like you are interested in selling or actually moving to a home that as you describe it a disaster. Otherwise you might have asked what he thought you could sell your home for.
