The Sherri Papini abduction

Has anyone been following the news about this lovely young lady who was abducted and abused....ostensibly by "2 Hispanic Women", in early November, and found dumped alongside a road on Thanksgiving? This is one of the most mysterious crimes I've read about in quite some time. Something just doesn't "smell right" about this whole thing. A couple of days ago, this report was written, and it makes more sense...to me...than anything I've seen so far.

I had my doubts also Don. Profiler's opinion makes sense. I am amazed the perp(s) let her go. I wonder how many "dead Shari's" are out there? I hope there is a positive resolution, and those responsible caught.
 
And to add yet another sytrange twist to this story,last week they reported that a close friend of hers was abducted in exactly the same way (while out jogging) back in 1998(?)(not positive of the year) and has never been found. I wish they had mentioned the girl`s name because I`m sure I heard about it at the time-we have been vacationing in the Redding area for many years-so a kidnapping there would have caught my attention. I just don`t remember it specifically. Ironically,Sherri Papini was found right in front of the house where my son in law`s grandparents used to live.
 

Not following in detail yet but I see a wide variety of headlines for or against. She might have been abducted or exaggerating an 'incident' to cover up something.
 
That report has no basis in fact, it is all speculation. Something bad happened to that woman and it is amazing that she survived. It is the surviving part that has people questioning what really happened because it is hard to comprehend. But that doesn't mean she has lied and putting headlines out like that is insensitive.
 
Even the police gave credence to her story of being abducted. They are not easily fooled. It is possible she is withholding information out of fear for her and her family's safety, but I do believe she was kidnapped and mistreated.
 
I think this a full blown abduction case. I mean nobody in their right mind is going to go out and brand themselves. I too feel they are withholding information while they search for the motive and all.
 
I have to admit that at first I thought it was a hoax. But when she was found with such severe injuries,so much weight loss and yes,the branding,it sounded real.
 
I don't like to doubt a victim and I don't think we should but this just does not add up to me.

I hope the authorities are able to gather the facts before spending a great deal of time and money chasing down the vague information provided up to this point.
 
In all my years as a psychotherapist, I have never encountered anyone with the type of injuries, branding, broken nose, induced starvation, restraints, etc manifested by this young woman to be culpable for their situation. This person was obviously abused and terrorised over a considerable amount of time.

Yes, it is weird. I don't dispute the likelihood of the victim withholding evidence, or lying about the perp out of fear, but I do believe she went through a hellish ordeal. What strength she showed simply to survive, and still be sane--although very traumatised.
