You seem to be confusing the words 'same' and 'equal'. Those of us who have more than one child are aware of the differences between them, yet are able to treat them equally,ie. making sure one doesn't get more than the other, making allowances for the differences in temperament. Ideally, parents should be able to make sure each child has the same opportunities to develop by giving them the appropriate schooling and whatever they need for their particular talents. If people are not born equal, (as we all seem to acknowledge), and you suggest should not be treated equally, (at least so far as schooling goes), then the off asserted phrase, "All men/women are equal", starts to look pretty meaningless doesn't it.
There is selection in schools though, if only by the wealth of their parents allowing so many children to be sent to exclusive and very expensive schools, (most of our UK prime ministers gaining advantage via this route, of either political persuasion).
For instance, one of my sons was always more academic than the other, so he was given the books he wanted. The other was more into sports, so he was given footballs, sports equipment, etc. Therefore they were treated equally, but not the same.
