When my daughter was 5 and it was Easter her main candy was a chocolate Easter individually wrapped bunny. Her older brother did not get one. He was jealous and teased her. “I am going to eat your bunny.” Like the woof in red riding hood, he was after her bunny.
She took that bunny into the bathroom with her, sat it on the back of the toilet, and when she was done, flushed the toilet. Her scream was spectacular. She was hysterical. Her prized chocolate bunny had fallen into the toilet.
And a family tradition was born.
From then on, every year of her life from the age of 5, Easter Bunny left a chocolate Easter bunny on the back of the toilet for her to rescue and eat. All the years of her life, even after she moved out, got married, had children, grew middle aged,
, mom, me, got her a chocolate Easter Bunny, and left it on the toilet for her.
But now she lives in Texas. I sent her a text. I am so sad, there will be no chocolate toilet Easter bunny this year, but happy Easter, sweetie. It’s ok mom. It’s not. It wasn’t but nothing for it. Except, she sends me another text. It’s ok mom, hubby has it covered.
And she sends me a picture, on her toilet, in their bathroom, sat a chocolate toilet Easter Bunny from her husband. And the family’s Easter tradition continues.
