For me, early retirement was like a grease-coated circular slide. Wheeeeeee!!! Feet hit the ground and I was off. Never looked back.

Interesting thoughts & comments.
I can say I never worked away from home.
First a wife , than a mother, then tour guide as kids left home.
Hubby steel mill shut down,, he lasted couple of months till he went to work at steel mill in Ohio.
By then I had got my PA inspection license,, opened a state inspection garage.
Not the best job for a woman.
Did that until hubby retired.
We did travel with our son & ride ATVs in states out west'.
Until this year Hubby has cut trees & sold fire wood.
Now we are holding hands walking that down hill path.
I can say I never worked away from home.
