I think it's deceptive from my understanding and I won't ever try it.
If I want to buy something, I buy it without getting into a bidding war and tied to a computer doing so.
Not only that, I suspect many people are bidding on DealDash just to "win" something.
May not even be something they even really need. They just enjoy the "game".
How it works
DealDash - How it works
- Each bid raises the price by $0.01.
- The auction clock restarts from 10 seconds every time someone bids.
- If no new bids are placed before the clock runs out, the last bidder wins.
- Before you can take part in an auction you need to buy bids. Bids are currently on sale for 13¢ each! This small fee makes the massive 95% off savings possible!
So for example an auction is won for $10.00 in bids ("a massive 95% savings on the item") ... do the math
1000 bids equals $10 @ 13¢ each bid = 1000 x 13 = $130 out of pocket to place $10 in bids
So the commercials tell of buying something for $10, they don't tell you that it cost $130 to bid $10 in one cent increments.
Buyer beware and if it sounds too good to be true ... dig a little deeper.
Now if I thought I could get a brand new car for $1.27 ... I MIGHT give it a go
