The weekend

When I was very young both of my parents worked so the weekend was special because they were home for two days. Then in school I looked forward to the weekend because they were home and I had two days in which to play with no school. Of course then there was working for a living and having a family. I could not wait for the weekend to relax and spend time with my family. I did not work overtime which I avoided like the plague. I worked for a living not lived for working.
I made sure I could cover all bases by working a five day week.

Anyway I would say I was programed to look forward to weekends. Kind of like waking up at five every morning. I was able to kick that habit after about a year or so of retirement. Thank you kindly for your responses. They gave me insight into the ideas/thoughts of others which is exactly what I was looking for....🐨

If I didn't take a break on the weekends, then everyday would be the same which is not good. I like to think that "variety if the spice of life." We all need a change every now and then; no matter how small. I don't like to get "into a rut."
That's a great idea! I'm going to try to incorporate that into my life. I am forever thinking it is a different day than it is, because every day is so much the same. That also gets boring.

I look forward to Monday more than the week-end. Since I don't really do much with other people (besides Sonny), the day of the week it is doesn't make a big difference to me.
