These Foods Fight Cancer. How Many Do You Consume?

I love broccoli and have it a couple of times a week (I could every day, actually). The other cruciferous veges I like are cabbage and brussell sprouts, but don't have them often. I like spinach, but not the other dark leafy greens. I drink decaffeinated green tea daily, sometimes twice a day and just got into eating dehydrated cranberries a couple of weeks ago. I've been putting a mixture of them and walnuts in my yogurt. I can't stand the smell of garlic, so don't use it. My son puts it in his bean soup, but makes it in a pressure cooker, so the aroma doesn't overwhelm me.

Which of these do you consume on a regular basis? Did you know they helped stave off cancer?

I eat broccoli, garlic, whole grains, and tomatoes every week and the others occasionally.

I don’t put much stock in these articles, we’re all going to die from something and while we are busy focusing on cancer we could be hit by a bus.

All things in moderation, make good choices, etc… and most importantly enjoy the time you have left.

What you don't eat is as equally important. Processed foods like sausages, bacon and burgers are classified as processed because they can contain additives, preservatives, or other ingredients altered from their original state to improve taste or extend shelf life. However, fresh, homemade ground beef burgers without added ingredients are not considered processed meats.

We have at least one meal a week, meat free, we eat fish twice a week, trout and almonds are a favourite and because my lady reacts to gluten, we eat gluten free food.

The vegetables that we eat are many and varied. For example, this evening I made tagliatelle with a ragu (Bolognese) sauce. The vegetables in it were: Celery, carrots, tomatoes (which are technically a fruit,) onions, spring onions, garlic and a green pepper. When we eat a meal that has green vegetables we enjoy most types. Potatoes we cook them in many ways except in a frying pan. Fried food we tend to avoid. (Don't tell McDonalds!)

You're a man after my own heart Mack! Especially when you start pulling out the ice cream. 😛😂
I do try to have whole grains when I can, as well.

Love all the vegees, and eat blueberries regularly which have generous proportions of antioxidants.
My wife and I eat lots of fresh fruit. For me it's almost medicinal. Back in my twenties, on a visit to the bathroom, I passed blood. It had to be bowel cancer of course, a phone call to the doctor and I was seen that day. It was constipation due to a lack of laxative foods in my diet, but that blood scared me. Since then fresh fruit has been part of my daily diet and, thankfully, no sign of blood since.
