Go to China. The cops in the airports are very tall and they walk around carrying fully automatic weapons and have dogs at their side.
I never knew Chinese got as tall as those guys were. Most were taller than me and I go 6 feet 2 inches. Some wore a mask like a gaiter that covered the lower part of their face. Looked like Ninja badasses to me. I first saw them in Customs and I knew right away that I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

He's guarding a military base; of course he wears a gun whether John Wayne wore them in the movies or not.

I was the wife of an active duty service member for many years. I've been on and off god knows how many military bases around the world.

In all those years, I've never seen a military guard be discourteous or disrespectful. Warm and fuzzy, no. Chatty and cheerful, no. But discourteous or disrespectful, NEVER.

And the protocol they follow is US military protocol; they are guarding a US military installation, no matter where in the world it is located.
