Thieves in San Francisco attempt to rob wedding photographer while taking pictures of couple

At my nephew's wedding 2 months ago in San Francisco, the wedding photographers shot at that same Palace of Fine Arts structure before the main reception and wedding ceremony a couple miles away. Many of the criminals drive in from Oakland across the Bay Bridge. Just yesterday, police chased 3 that ran out of a car and caught them after it drove up a freeway onramp to return. San Francisco as well as other SFBA cities have increasingly used Automated License Plate Readers, ALPRs, that for years were pressured against by groups like the ACLU. Unfortunately if convicted and they usually receive little deterring punishment, so increasingly just laugh at the rest of us just being inconvenienced for a time. That is why I advocate quick swift public corporal punishment instead of longer jail sentences they rarely serve unless such involved violence and weapons. That does not mean severe pain but rather uncomfortable short term jail conditions like being in warm or cool cells, unpleasant behavioral training or music they would hate on speakers, unpleasant daily changing cell smells, boring food, etc.

Target lost $400 million to retail thefts last year. That gets passed along to customers, and of course to shareholders.
