Things British....

Britain has produced many fierce, noble warriors down the ages who have fought to keep Britain free, but there was one formidable lady in history whose name will never be forgotten – Queen Boudica or Boadicea as she is more commonly called.

At the time of the Roman conquest of southern Britain Queen Boudica ruled the Iceni tribe of East Anglia alongside her husband King Prasutagus.

Have you got a gripe against British comedy? I live in the states and love British humor. Don't you?
Maybe you should ask Harry Enfield that question.
Sorry, Jamala. I laughed my head off! I thought the videos were hilarious. I think you let the titles mislead you without actually watching any of the mocking remarks! They are very much pro-feminist!
I must really go to bed. This time I thought I was answering Jamala!

I love British comedy.. however... Harry Enfield is racist, sexist and thoroughly distasteful.
Many of his shows have been cancelled by the BBC and radio stations.

You would know that if you were British!!!

This is the earliest known poem in the English language, written in the 7th century, in what is called “Old English”.
We know very little about the author, whose name was Caedmon… to know more follow this link:

The setting for this performance of the hymn is Odda’s Chapel in Gloucestershire, South West England. The chapel is Anglo-Saxon, built a decade before the Norman invasion.

A corgi parade commemorated the anniversary of the Queen 's death.

Oh no, Old Feller! I was just about two months sober from the guard addiction and now you've triggered me! It got so bad with me I had favorite guards and favorite horses.

It turned out it was a gateway rabbit hole, now I'm into harder stuff, watching the cops stop drunks for traffic tickets. I'd post my favorite girl, sound asleep at a traffic light, but I don't think she's British.

I could watch it all day, (I learned the other day) LOL

A leading team of researchers have discovered what is believed to be a complete Neolithic cursus set within a rich prehistoric landscape on the Isle of Arran, Scotland.

This monument type is among the first that was built by farmers in Neolithic Britain and is huge, measuring 1.1km long and 50 meters wide.

A cursus is a vast Neolithic monument comprised of one or more rectangular enclosures. The cursus on Arran is defined by a large stone, earth and turf bank running around the entire perimeter of the enclosure. Constructing this monument would have involved staggering amounts of labor, transforming the entire local landscape.

This monument type could date to perhaps as early as 3500 BC, researchers say. It is the most complete example of this site type found in Britain and the opportunity to investigate a cursus bank is very rare and hugely exciting.

There’s so much more to this story….just follow the link…
