Things that are restful.

I was just playing solitaire on my phone and I think that it is time well spent because it takes my mind away from all of the things that require my attention all of the time.
Not as a way to avoid things but just a few minutes to rest the brain.
A forum that I belong to has a joke and humor section that has one joke after another. Just quick humorous things.
That helps to keep me on an even keel too and between the two I think that they allow me to gain a perspective on things that I have to do as they require attention.
Have you ever noticed that when you are able to let your mind escape for a little while nearly every day that it seems to be healthy and worthwhile?

Unless I;m ill..there's not a day goes by where I don't complete one or more crosswords... that's relaxing to me...

Also playing music.. ..I play a couple of instruments now..... that is relaxing..... and the time just shoots past without me realising

..but when I can get out of the house, the most relaxing thing of all for me is taking landscape photos...

Thanks for this reminder. What is relaxing to one person may be different for another, but the important thing is to step away from stress for awhile; something I'm not so good at.

I don't save all Christmas cards, but some I do. Today, I went through Christmas cards, this year and some from from past years, and enjoyed reading the notes again.

Restful to me — sitting beside a small mountain stream.
Indoors, like @hollydolly , I do crossword puzzles.

I often wait for three free crossword puzzles to arrive on my phone at midnight. (Washington Post which is actually LA Times, NY Post and Your Puzzle Source.) I say I should save something for morning but seldom do. Sleep evades me. When I run out I do Boatload puzzles.

I have a few things that I find restful. When I go to bed I will do crosswords or read for 20 or 30 minutes.
I like to go out to the shop in the evenings before bed and do some woodturning or just putter around putting things away and clean up a bit. You'd never know it by the look of my shop right now though.
Some evenings or dull afternoons I can go to the basement to reload shotgun shells to be ready for skeet shooting the next time we get a chance to go.

I feel guilty reading of all the people who enjoy crosswords. One of my favorite restful activities is Bejeweled, a match-three game that requires almost literally no thought. 😆
