I had been working hard getting my bricks around my new flower garden for the past few weeks. Crawling around, under the porch getting to the bricks I had saved for just such a project. The last few days I wasn't feeling well. Today was terrible,I also developed a large circular rash. I knew exactly what it was. I had been down that road before. Today the doctor confirmed it, Lyme Disease. Had blood work and am on antibiotics. A few days ago I got in my car and reached for the seat belt. In our old car I could reach it with the same hand as the seat belt is on. In our newer car I have to reach across my chest to pull it out. I kept trying and trying, just to dumb to use the other arm. Heard something snap. Doctor said I tore my rotator cuff or did some nerve damage. MRI will confirm that after I recover from the Lyme. The third thing was with all the moving around putting the bricks in and with my bad knee I managed to possibly pinch my sciatic nerve. Sometimes it doesn't pay to get out of bed. One good thing, I had finished my garden. Now I can't go out in the sun because of the antibiotic. If I hadn't gotten it done, believe me, you wouldn't want to be anywhere near me.

That's terrible Ruth, hope you feel better soon....hugs.

Thanks for your comments and good wishes. I'm just going to sit and read some books till I feel better. I'll dash out in the evening when the sun is down and water my garden. Can't go out in the sun on these meds.

I sure feel for you, going through so much in such a short time.

I do hope those meds kick in quickly and get you over the Lyme Disease. I had that once and never want to get it again.

Feel better soon!

How are you doing, Ruth? Hope you are feeling a little bit better, at least.
Thank you Butterfly, yes, I am feeling better. The meds have kicked in and I'm not near as miserable as I was the first time I had Lyme. As for the rest, will probably go to physical therapy. Trying exercises at home also. I even do a little yard work in the evening only. I have to keep up with some of the weeds.. Can't go out in the sun while taking the antibiotic. To hot out there anyway.

Hugs Ruth. Pleased you are feeling better.I tore my ACL rescuing a bird from Shakira Shady Boots--darned inconvenient during gardening season. I hope you have a full recovery as soon as possible. Looking forward to more pics of your yard/garden/house, love the colour of your fence.

You've been Murphy's Law-ed, Ruth. It does suck. Okay, now let's look for the silver lining. Sometimes those come along too. Like if you'd been doing what you normally would be doing, you would have missed something good. You would not have been in the right place at the right time for them to happen. Fingers crossed. I made two really good friends that I wouldn't have connected with in the same way, if my brother hadn't gone nuts and put me in a funk.
