...not looking in the magnified side of my hand held mirror with my reading glasses on. :magnify:

Knowing that I can still turn over the garden with a spade, touch my toes without bending my knees and thread a needle without my glasses.

You're lucky Ruth, threading a needle without my reading glasses anymore is pretty much impossible, even with that little threader helping thingy.

Playing PC games. Sure some may mock me for doing so but it helps keep my mind active and it's always fun to build empires in games such as Civilization 6 or go on wild adventures in other games such as The Elder Scroll series :)

Being able to still get out of the house and do some good outdoor work is my "benchmark"...gardening, mowing, gathering firewood for the outdoor wood furnace, etc. I am convinced that all this physical activity is the best health care plan I could ever hope to come up with.

Getting out in the woods, camping, hiking and doing outdoorsy things in nature helps me not feel so old.

Still looking after us and our home and garden, organising and keeping a musical group going, being able to go around the room
and introduce the 30 plus people sitting there even though I might have only met some recently.
Still able to go camping and kayaking.
Prepare a fancy Christmas dinner.

I enjoy the Hidden Object Games..

I run a volunteer group from home as I don't go out much. It is for teenagers who are not fond of the usual scene and prefer artsy things, they come here and chat, play whatever music they like, we bake, paint, quilt , or whatever they are in to. I have had some really fun stuff brought to my house, including late night session with telescopes . They have built and erected birdhouses. made teddies and even sat here with their school books. Most of them don't have Grandparents so they all call me Nana and then my last name but they don't really treat me like an old lady. They share all sorts with me and after they leave and I am dog tired I realize for a few hours I felt like a teenager again. It is only once a month and it runs all day so they come when they like and often I wish it was more often but it woud probably be too much for me as I sometimes have 16 or so here.

Working out at the gym, having people tell me I don' look like a senior citizen (even bus drivers and wait staff have "carded" me) and being able to relate so well to the young people in my life.

When a young man in the pub asked me to take his shot for him on the pool table, I then cleared the table (totally lucky of course), but to see the looks on his and his mates faces made me feel 20 again....

Wow, I envy the folks who do outdoor things. I use to do all those things before my osteoporosis got so bad. Now I dream of trimming shrubs and wonder if j can hold up the electric shee rs long enough. And gardening got down to potted plants on the porch but still enjoyable. Even today I was thinking about going out and picking up all the trash the wind has blown into the yard from passersby. I live on a corner and it gets pretty bad sometimes. I do have one of those picker-uppers though. It's walking on the uneven ground that's hard. I'm not sure anything makes me feel younger. I'm kind of in a depressed state these days. Wish there were some feel-good pills that weren't addictive. Lol. I'll just dream on I guess.

Being able to play golf and to score as well or better than the "young flat-bellies". Competition on the course keeps me young!

Driving the amount I do and keeping my reflexes and ability to "keep up" in tune. When I get behind the wheel, I'm can drive as well as any 30 to 40 year old, safer than teens and 20 year olds trying to drive and look at their cell phone, safer than most other geriatrics that are fearful of suffering another heart attack if they venture over 15 mph... on the freeway, and more experienced in inclement weather conditions that folks twice my age. Woops! There ain't no one out there twice my age anymore!!!!!

Since the time I was tall enough, I could always lift my foot up on the bathroom sink vanity. Look Ma, no hands! (btw, I did it to wash my feet in the sink as a kid.)
Whenever I get to feeling old I try it again. Still can. So far, so good.
