Things That Make You Go 'Aaaah'

I've been looking through a box full of old photos. My son wanted me to find his old school band photo so it can be put on a Facebook site. The founder of the site wants to have a get together of past bandmembers after 30 years. I found the photo, so it was my Aaaah! moment. Also found many baby photos I had forgotten about, and my 21st Birthday photo. Aaaah!

Looking out of my window, just before sunset, I saw the biggest and longest "green flash" just before the sun went down.
The green flash is a phenomenon that occurs at sunset and sunrise when conditions are favorable, and results when two optical phenomena combine: a mirage and the dispersion of sunlight. As the sun dips below the horizon the light is being dispersed through the earth's atmosphere like a prism.
The green flash is an incredibly rare sight no matter where you are, notorious for its unpredictability. Green flashes can occur at sunrise but are more common at sunset. On land, the best chance of seeing a green flash will come from a place of elevation, with a clear view of the horizon.

When I was young, I lived in a place that I saw this all the time. I took it for granted at the time, but I still remember it. Most amazing sight!

  • My cat, Andy, always waiting for me outside my bedroom door when I wake up in the morning.
  • A good cup of coffee while watching the news and seeing we haven't entered WWIII.
  • A good stretch and workout at the gym while listening to my favorite tunes.
  • A clean car.
  • Nice temperatures and sunshine for outside walks.
  • My partner arriving home from work.
