Things that used to cost a lot . . .

We bought a 42" Plasma TV in 2006. It still works, but what we paid for it, 18 years ago, would buy 4 or 5 similar TV's today.

20 years ago...same for me... the tv works beautifully still. in fact people who come into the house often comment on how sharp and clear a picture it is..It's panasonic Viera.. I won;t change it for the sake of it..

I still use those 19¢ Bic Cristals - they've been my favorite pens since before I hit my teens. Now I buy them in packages of 10 for $1.00!

Have you priced a truck lately?

We just bought a 2 years old Silverado with 64K miles on it. It cost nearly TWICE what we paid for a brand-new Jetta in 2012. In fact this truck is the 2nd most expensive item we have ever bought.... And we are now in our 5th home.

My parents had good luck buying high mileage late model vehicles.

They would drive them a much shorter number of miles for two or three years and bring the mileage into line.

They would sell them off the lawn, my mother was quite good at playing the little old lady that only drove it to church on Sunday.
