Things You Buy That You Don't Need More Of?

Yesterday for some reason fabric popped up as suggestion on my Etsy page. Now I'm looking at fabric scraps. Which I love and have used to make tote bags, trim dish towels etc. But I don't need more! I'm also planning to go to the quilt shop today. I had that idea last week but didn't go. I haven't been there in months. Sigh.

There are things I spot in the store and can’t really resist even if what I have at home is perfectly serviceable. If I really like something and it’s on sale, I can’t resist buying a second …. or third. An example is Eddie Bauer pack backs. They’re very light, just a bit of padding on the straps and perfect for me pull on when I’m walking to a store. I’ve been using burgundy for two or three years and I have a really pretty turquoise one that I save for travel and a brand new grey one. If I walked in a EB store and found a gorgeous new colour, I probably couldn’t resist. I also have a couple of the small sling cross body type.

(I’m just taking a quick detour to see what they have online.)

I stopped going to thrift stores and garage/yard sales!

My rule for the last 15 years: if I bring in a new item, an old similar one must go (to my daughter or friend, relative/thrift store/garbage bin) My closet isn't bulging with clothes and shoes, cupboards don't have 1,000 "cute" items.

Shoes. Just bought another pair the other day. Wore them once, so far.
don't feel bad... I have another cupboard full of trainers as well, but out of this cupboard I've probably just worn 3 pairs...

I really don't buy anymore, but I should have stopped sooner ..... yarn, of all types and gauges for clothing and covers.
If I ever feel like making something again, I don't have to look very far.
This is a common one. I also have too much yarn also. I have read on forums people make pledges to not buy yarn until they have used so much of their stash or for a period of time. Most confess they fail. Then I don't feel so bad.

I didn't ever get in the habit of buying too much of any one thing, or hoarding items. If I have enough of something, I won't buy more, or stash things away. As for clothing or shoes, when I have two closets full of clothes, or my shoe space is full, I carefully assess and then weed out what I'm not really wearing anymore. Seems to keep me current, and not berating myself for over indulging.......

I don't need more things, so I'm very careful about what I buy these days. I'm trying to get rid of things, not accumulate more. I just donated 26 pairs of shoes to charity along with a bunch of seldom-worn clothes that are in excellent condition. Good riddance! I have more things to donate as soon as I sort through them.

Good for donating. They will get bought by people needing clothes and shoes for a good price.

I have a total of 6 pairs of shoes. I don’t understand having too many of one item. I have a couple of friends with a shoe obsession. Half of one closet has a double rack for clothing. Besides a few coats and dresses plus my dresser for socks, underwear and pjs that’s it for clothing.

I'd have less clothes if I didn't keep things that are too small. I don't wear street or professional clothes to work.

Bookmarks; I have a lot; I love the 3D (sometimes called lenticular) ones. Have been pretty good for the last few months and haven't bought any but I'm sure I'll give in to temptation sooner or later, lol.
I have some of those clip ones shaped like an arrow that keep your exact spot. My alert and gets into everything tabby with claw those out of a book. She's that bad. I usually use a card or something for a bookmark. I sure can't have anything that sticks out of the book.

Summer blouses, sunglasses, shoes, bags, and jewelry, though I do make my own jewelry frequently I can't resist a charm or a pendant to make more.
