Do you have anythings you enjoy or appreciate now that you didn't before. I don't mean things you couldn't enjoy because you were too young to participate in enjoying them due to age restrictions. I also don't mean things you didn't enjoy or appreciate earlier because you hadn't been exposed to them.
For me I'd say that horses are something I didn't really start appreciating until the last few years. I had seen them regularly at various places one sees horses (parades, carnivals, driving through the country, etc...) but didn't really have any interest in learning more about them. I think a couple of things happened to pique my interest. I read some books on animal behavior and intelligence that has some information on horses that fascinated me. Also a distant cousin works with horses and posts about them a lot on Facebook so I see her posts.
Two years ago I was at a science fiction convention and one of the panels was about writing about horses and how to get it right. The five authors on the panel (all women) spoke about how people who don't know horses get things wrong and also spoke of their experience with horses, how they started and what their relationships with them had been.
So over the last couple of years I've found myself wanting to spend some time around horses to get to know them and know more about them. I'm kind of waiting until I'm retired so that I can hopefully volunteer at an organization where I'll be in regular contact with horses in some way or another (even if it's cleaning their stables.) Hopefully I'll be able to find something once I'm ready.
